Brimstone and Grutch

This was inspired by my previous work ( fav.me/d68ad4p ), which was inspired by Nightmare from Soul Calibur and Raziel from Legacy of Kain.

Background: Brimstone, despite being an earth pony, had always been interested in magic. Being unable to practice it, he devoted his life to theoretical studies. He was especially interested in magical creatures. One day, he was trying to track down a phoenix nest in the Everfree Forest, but instead, he found Grutch. Or perhaps, Grutch found him.


Name: Gr'utch'cuct'hurar'gharg Dror'nzerggrargct-harberud Shangzara'zargron Rukkhigrukskel Wargzur'gcurorn Ing'ash'sorth'zarg'zorg Mrrghs-Llykaeey. Nicknamed Grutch by Brimstone.

Status: Fled from Tartarus
Personality: Arrogant, reckless, boisterous, hot-headed, talkative.
Alignment: Chaotic neutral (evil),
Background: Cleaning Cerberus' kennels is one of the worst possible jobs in Tartarus, and it usually is assigned as punishment. Grutch had it coming. Talking back to his superiors wasn't a good idea. Eventually though, everything turned much better than expected. Grutch, with his cunning mind and shape-shifting abilities managed to set Cerberus free, and using the confusion which escalated from that, escape from Tartarus. To survive though, he had to feed. Soon, he found a perfect prey, a sole, young, male earth pony, in the middle of the Everfree forest.


Brimstone and Grutch are permanently attached to each other. Any attempts of separation would result in a death of both of them. Grutch feeds on Brimstone's life force (hence all the 'wrinkles'), but gives him some interesting powers in return. For example, if Grutch turns into "demonic arm" he provides lots of strength in that limb. If he turns into some sort of wings, they can glide down, etc.

Brimstone's life forces aren't Grutch's only food. He needs to eat meat from time to time, otherwise he would suck out his host completely and eventually kill him. Due to that, and their rather sinister appearance, they're condemned to an exile.
